This week AWESOME INSPIRATION is celebrating the life and legacy of Bob Marley! Here follows a selection of inspiring quotes from the reggae legend himself. These quotes really rather speak for themselves and are a source of awesome wisdom.

Interviewer: Are you a rich man? … Do you have many possessions?

Three Little Birds

13 10 2011

When it came to selecting Inspirationblog.org’s first inspiring piece of music, there was really no choice as to what it must be. Everybody has songs that stand out for them – perhaps because it is so easy to associate memories with music.

Three Little Birds by Bob Marley has always been and probably will always be my favourite song. It was one of the first songs I put on my first iPod. It featured on the album ‘Exodus‘ (one of the best Reggae albums ever made) but can also be found on the collection of Bob Marley’s Greatest Hits ‘Legend‘. It is perhaps his most famous song, although a lot of people don’t know it by its title – they know it by the message repeated in its chorus: ‘No worries‘.

Just 3.00 minutes long, the song is a bright, simple reminder of the way that things will always work out in the end and that life is too short and sweet to spend time feeling anxious. It was written while Marley was in exile in London, recuperating from an assassination attempt. While the source of inspiration for the song’s lyrics is disputed, it is popularly thought that Marley was inspired by three canaries that would come by the windowsill at Hope Road.
